Our Focus

At Triple S Day Camp, we are focused on creating a fun and exciting summer program where our campers can explore multiple activities and meet lifelong friends. We utilize our passion for academic enrichment to combine an active summer that exercises both the body and the mind.

We offer a Multidimensional program to benefit a child’s intellectual, emotional, and social growth.

Beyond the Books

Among the programs that our campers participate in are but not limited to: science and nature, sports, music, arts/craft, painting, STEM projects, Geography NOW: Explore new destinations, LEGO Education: Coding, dance, martial arts lessons, weekly trips and much more!

Activities

Our Summer Day Camps offers an enriched array of learning activities.

Academics: Math and Reading Comprehension

Campers can rest assured they will not lag in computational and reasoning skills while school is not in session. They will immerse and challenge themselves with reading materials that promote concepts of main idea, inferences, and developing logical ideas all in hand with helping them grow likeness for learning.

Pottery

Come get your hands dirty as you dig inside the clay to make your favorite pot, animal, or figurine. Once dried, campers get to paint them and take it home to keep.

Sciences/Nature

Explore the local flora and fauna as we walk through the neighborhood visiting parks, gardens, and trails. Collect leaves, twigs, sticks, and feathers to make unique one of a kind sun print nature art. Discover why certain types of birds live in an area and what comprises their habitats.

Coding With Lego Education

Discover a new adventure using Math, Science, and Language skills to build a locomotive with hands-on experiences. Move the train along the track while you learn to build a program that helps you relate to ones used by adults in our daily lives.

S.T.E.M.

Campers will engage in a multitude of tasks that challenge their skills and invite them to think beyond the box. Build the Eiffel Tower using toothpicks and marshmallows and see if it can withstand wind. Make ice cream and explore phases of matter as it goes from liquid to solid and in doing so enjoy some as well!

Movement: Dancing to Heart Health

Move it, groove it, just enjoy it! Understand the importance of heart health and how staying active 40-60 minutes a day, can help build strong heart muscles that help prolong a healthy and vital life.

Geography Now: Where to?

Learn different words in a foreign language, maybe taste a dessert from a country across the world. Campers will explore various cultures, countries, and people through the use of multimedia, taste, and sound. Vamanos!

Music (Campers K-3)

Campers will beat and chime and sing along with tunes they already know or are learning for the first time. Shake the maracas, handbells, or use your hands to drum the tambourine or blow into a flute to make music together and have fun!

Martial Arts

Enjoy time learning some martial arts moves and self-defense, but don’t forget to roar “Kiyaaa”

Weekly Field Trips

Campers visit a wide range of destinations from museums, arcades, amusement parks, shows, exhibitions, aquariums, and zoos. Are you ready to have some fun today?

Sports

When possible, we try to use the Sid Augarten Baseball Field on Mosholu Ave to play team sports such as kickball, baseball, soccer, steal the bacon, flag football, and have a blast during Field day Thursdays!

Arts & Crafts

Let’s read a book and make a rainbow fish or lion using paper, crayons, markers, and lots of craft materials. In a mood to perform a luau, no worries! Let’s make a garland out of flowers you create and paint. The possibilities are endless just like your imagination.

When does your camp run?

Triple S Summer Day Camp runs for 4 to 5 weeks during the month of July and August. The camp day lasts from 8:30 am till 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. We also offer extended hours from 8:00 AM to – 6:00 PM every day for an additional fee.

What does my child need to wear to camp?

Every day your child should wear sneakers and clothing that can get messy. We have fitness classes and art classes every day; we also use paint and other fun and messy materials too.

What will my child be doing each day?

Each day your child will receive music and art lessons, tutoring services, playground time 2x. Among those activities, each day will be accompanied by one of the following specials: STEM, science/nature, LEGO EDUCATION, dance, martial arts, and GEOGRAPHY NOW. Each activity period is broken into 50 minutes each with 10 minute clean up/rest time.

Do I need to bring lunch?

Yes, please send a nut-free lunch and two snacks (morning and afternoon) to camp each day. We do have special days were we will provide lunch (pizza, fries, salad) for all campers, but that will be stated on the camp schedule.

Who will be with my child every day?

Triple S head counselors are adults with degrees in their field or mature college students with previous summer camp experience.   We also have certified instructors for our field sports, martial arts, STEM, and Lego Education sessions. They are all experienced in one-on-one, small-group, and classroom teaching, and well-versed in Common Core standards. All camp manager/directors are CPR Certified.

Will there be any field trips?

Yes, we will be taking weekly field trips via air conditioned bus out of Riverdale to various destinations. Campers must wear their camp t-shirts on days of our trips. For those that forget or do not have a camp t-shirt on during a camp trip, we will provide another but a $10 charge will be applied.

Are there activities that cost money?

Yes, throughout the summer we will be doing some “field trips” that require parents to pay for food, souvenirs etc. You will be notified in advance and have the option of opting out of the trips.

When are camp payments due?

There is a $250 deposit due at registration per camper and a registration fee of $100. The balance must be paid in full by July 1st. Deposits are non-refundable after May 15th.   Registration fees are non-refundable. Payment plans are available. Once camp starts, all payments made are non-refundable, despite missing weeks or cancellation. Summer Day Camp tuition is flat rate, which means there is no pro-rated discount or credit for missed days or weeks.

How can I pay for camp?

We take all forms of payment (cash, check, credit cards). All credit card transactions carry a 3% transaction fee. Payment plans are available. Deposits are due on the day of enrollment — no refunds after May 15th. Camp must be paid in full by July 1st. You may enroll your child directly through our camp website! Just click on the “Enroll Now!” or drop by our office to fill out the paperwork.
